삼청동 핑크갤러리는 2025년 10월 1일부터 17일까지 윤형선 작가의 개인전 《솜사탕 사랑 (Cotton Candy Love)》을 개최한다. 이번 전시는 꽃과 잉어(코이)를 주제로 한 신작들을 선보이며, 작가가 오래도록 품어온 기억과 사랑, 그리고 삶의 성찰을 담아낸다.

윤형선 작가는 스스로를 “벚꽃이 만개하는 봄날에 태어난 사람”이라고 말한다. 어린 시절, 생일마다 흐드러지게 피어난 벚꽃과 어머니가 사주셨던 솜사탕은 작가에게 따뜻한 사랑의 상징으로 남아 있다. 이번 전시의 제목인 《솜사탕 사랑》은 바로 그 기억에서 비롯되었다. 작품 속 부드럽고 포근한 색채들은 어머니의 사랑을 향한 조용한 헌사이자, 누구나 마음속에 간직한 순수한 감정을 불러낸다.

또한 이번 전시에는 또 다른 흐름으로, 검정색 바탕 위 은빛 잉어가 꽃잎 사이를 유영하는 작품들이 함께한다. 잉어는 동양 회화에서 오랜 세월 재물, 입신양명, 출세, 번영, 그리고 삶의 힘을 상징해왔다. 윤형선은 흩날리는 꽃잎과 잉어의 이미지를 대비시켜, 인생의 깊이와 고요한 아름다움을 드러낸다. 솜사탕 같은 가벼운 추억과 잉어가 지닌 무게 있는 상징이 만나면서, 이번 전시는 어린 날의 달콤한 기억에서 성숙한 삶의 성찰로 이어지는 다층적인 이야기를 만들어낸다.

Samcheong-dong Pink Gallery is pleased to present Yoon Hyung Sun’s solo exhibition Cotton Candy Love, on view from October 1 to October 17, 2025. This exhibition unveils new works inspired by flowers and koi, reflecting the artist’s long-cherished memories, love, and contemplations on life.

Yoon describes herself as “a person born on a spring day when cherry blossoms are in full bloom.” Each year, her birthday was celebrated beneath cascades of blossoms, and the cotton candy her mother lovingly bought her became an enduring symbol of affection. The title Cotton Candy Love originates from these treasured memories. Rendered in soft, tender hues, her paintings become a quiet homage to her mother’s love, while evoking the pure emotions that dwell in the hearts of all.

Alongside these works, Yoon presents a contrasting series in which silver koi glide through scattered petals against deep black backgrounds. In East Asian painting, koi have long symbolized wealth, honor, success, prosperity, and the resilient force of life. By setting the luminous koi against drifting blossoms, the artist reveals both the depth of existence and its serene beauty. In uniting the sweetness of childhood memories with the weight of symbolic tradition, this exhibition creates a layered narrative—one that journeys from innocence and tenderness to mature reflection on the meaning of life.
