In my paintings, I try to reproduce the textures and visual effects specific to other media, such as photography, television and digital print. In contrast to photo-realist approaches, I attempt to focus on the medium rather than on the image itself, so my work could be considered as a form of “hyper-realism” of the medium. Through these abstract images, I explore visual effects like magnification, fuzziness, pixelization and color saturation.

Within a society marked by television imagery and digital processes, in a world that everything is simulation, manipulation, illusion or fake, I have been Interested to create a painting which doesn’t look at all a handmade painting, a “fake original” image. Through painting I recreate the illusion of another medium, like photography, and digital print.

We get inside of a micro pictural world inside the painting which is simulation of a manipulated video projection image, something looks technological, but is not, is a simple an illusion.

It is also a traditional process, the act to put paint on a surface. My work is also about these processes, the action of painting because it is still a witness of the desire to” paint in spite of everything”
