핑크갤러리에서는 2012년 제 1회 서초제(10월 13일~19일)기간 서초구 작가 8명의 ‘소망의 무게’ 초대전을 10월15일에서 31일까지 2주간 초대전시 한다.

한나영 (Nayoung Han)은 숙명여자대학 미술대학 공예과를 졸업하였고 박영덕 화랑, 하나 아트갤러리 등에서 초대 개인전등을 하였다. 그녀의 작품은 중국 베이징 진 타이 박물관, 베이징 올림픽그린 등에 소장되어 있다. 작가는 특유의 절제된 양식으로 자연 형상을 그녀만의 부드러운 곡선미와 교묘한 비대칭 기법으로 표현한 작품을 전시한다.

황지선(Jiseoun Hwang)은 이화여대 조소과와 동 대학원을 졸업, 뉴욕 SVA (School of Visual Arts)대학원을 졸업했다. 작가는 미국 유학 이후 잃어가고 있는 옛 것을 찾고 발전시켜 현대화하려는 작품을 만들어 왔다. 그녀는 조선일보 미술관, 박영덕 화랑 등에서 개인전을 하였다. 이번 전시에서는 설치작품으로 스테인리스(Stainless Steel)로 만든 커다란 사과이미지의 설치작업을 전시한다.

이규민(Kyumin Lee)은 서울 교대 교수로 꿈꾸는 달팽이를 전시한다. 동심의 근원과 자연의 순수함을 보여주는 그의 달팽이는 동심의 세계를 통해 자연과 건강한 원초적 삶을 추구하는 작가의 의지가 보인다. 또한 인간의 삶이 의인화되어 무거운 짐을 지고 살아가면서도 느리고 평화롭게 그것을 숙명으로 받아드리려는 그의 삶의 철학이 엿보인다.

박진(Jin Park)은 서양화가로 단국대 서양화과에 출강하였고 갤러리 창과 갤러리 싸이먼 에서 개인전을 하였다. 그녀의 작품은 캔버스에 아크릴작품으로 보자기나 천이 사용된듯한 매우 한국적이고 조용한 우아함을 자아낸다.

박명선(Myungsun Park)은 홍익대학에서 미술학 박사학위를 받았고 현재 단국대학교 교수이며 갤러리 사비나, 학고재 등에서 개인전을 하였다. 그녀의 작품은 천에 채색과 콜라주를 이용하여 내면의 가치와 희망을 표현하고자 하는 ‘빛-자라다’ 작품을 전시한다.

박태동(Taedong Park)은 서울대학 미술대학 조소과와 동 대학원을 졸업하였고 ISF 서울국제 조각 페스타 개인부스 전, 종로 갤러리 등에서 개인전을 했다. 그의 작품에서는 공간이 주는 매력과 물질에 대한 깊은 이해가 보인다. 그의 아름답게 잘 다듬어진 돌 모양의 조각들은 자부심이 넘치는 귀한 존재로 보석 같이 보인다.

임정욱(Grace Rim)은 SFAI(San Francisco Art Institute)대학과 NY University 대학원에서 페인팅을 전공 졸업하여 뉴욕을 중심으로 멀티미디어 작가로 활동하였으며 베니스 비엔날레, 우치(폴렌드) 비엔날레, 인천 여성비엔날레에 초대참가 하였다. 예전의 찢고 바느질하던 작업은 차분하게 바뀌어 평화로움과 희망을 찾은 듯한 캔버스에 혼합재료의 작품 ‘호수 III’을 선보인다.

송근영(Keunyoung Song)은 서울대학교 동양화과와 동 대학원을 졸업하였고 금호미술관, 목인갤러리, 가산화랑 등에서 개인전과 많은 국제아트페어(Affordable Art Fair Singapore, Art International Zurich, Shanghai Art Fair & etc.)에 참가했다. 이번 전시에 그녀가 보여주는 한지에 먹, 채색, 콜라주 작품은 자연이 흐르는 물, 풀, 돌로 축소되어 간결하고 진솔한 아름다움이 평화롭게 표현된 작품을 선보인다.

Pink Gallery is very pleased to announce “The Weight of Hope” exhibition by the eight artists from Seocho district in Seoul, Korea during Seocho Art Festival (Oct. 13th – 19th). This exhibition is from Oct. 15th to 31st for two weeks. Seocho is a part of Kang Nam (Kang Nam Style) in South, Korea. The artists are Nayoung Han(Sulpture&Painting), Jiseon Hwang(installation), Kyumin Lee(Sculpture), Jin Park(Painting), Myungsun Park(Painting), Taedong Park(Sculpture), Grace Rim(Painting), and Keunyoung Song(Oriental Painting).

Nayoung Han shows a sculpture and a couple paintings. Her sculpture, Dream, (31x13x36cm) is made of Marble which has very soft line with her own special artful asymmetric techniques to show the nature. Her paintings Afternoon (73x73cm) and Game (53x73cm) metal and ceramic, have great humor, and are very playful with a hen, birds, mushroom, flower, snails and etc.

Jiseoun Hwang is showing an installation work, An Apple, (55x43x43cm) mixed media, which reminds of a apple of Eve in white pearl. It is suspended 30 inches above from the gallery floor.

Kyumin Lee shows a giant snail, A Snail with Hope and Dream (175x64x82cm) which is made of bronze. It looks playful, but also shows his philosophy of life that we all have our own problems which is like a heavy burden on our back while we are living. But, we have to accept it as a fate of life.

Jin Park shows 4 paintings of a series Where the Memory Has Remained, (50x120cm, 90x90cm) acrylic on canvas. They remind of Korean Bojaki or clothes which are spread out in layers in peaceful and serene way. They seem very Korean and elegant.

Myungsun Park shows two paintings on canvas. These works titled Light-Grow up (46x53cm, 61x72cm) mixed media, express the inner value and hope.

Taedong Park, shows 3 small sculptures which remind of small stones or gem stones. From his Gemstone the viewer can perceive his understanding about the substance and the attraction of the sculpture with space. These stone shape sculptures are surely gems.

Grace Rim is showing 4 mixed media on canvas paintings, Wings XII (73x51cm), Untitled (112x162cm), The Ponds III (72x60cm), and Wings VIII (60x73cm). Unlike her previous paintings from years ago which are torn, then sewed back to reform, her recent paintings look quite serene as if the artist is looking after peace and hope.

Keunyoung Song is showing two paintings, The Garden of Chuang-Tzu, ancient Chinese philosopher, (52x45cm) with oriental ink, collage on rice paper. She painted simple landscape on the black background which shows elegant and reserved beauty of oriental painting style.
